Foodman - Shokuhin
We heard about Foodman through a Japanese footwork compilation, but his record on Orange Milk escapes most genre classification. There is an element of warped dance music going on, but it's always interrupted by a flowing sense of randomness and perpetual change. I played a few tracks from Shokuhin for the older women at my day job, and all they could say was that it sounded ultra "modern". Utilizing dance, noise, sampling, and chaos, but not relying too heavily on any single element, we couldn't agree more.
